Sophomore infielder Bobby Pierce Jr. had a sensational week at the plate for the SMCC baseball team, helping the Cougars finish 4-0 with two wins over Chandler-GIlbert CC and Mesa CC. Pierce Jr. batted .500 (8 for 16) with seven runs, nine RBIs, three doubles, two triples, a home run, and two stolen bases. He hit a grand slam against CGCC and is batting .366 in 43 games with eight doubles, seven triples, and five home runs.
