The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 58-35 to Glendale CC in an ACCAC Division II contest at GCC on Wednesday, Feb. 11. Freshman Janelle Smith led the Cougars with 11 points and eight rebounds, and freshman Jaya Harris scored a season-high eight points and grabbed five rebounds in defeat.
Freshman Jayden Lynch posted four points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals for SMCC. Freshman Victoria Benito finished with five points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Freshman Kashari Bullard recorded four points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Freshman Genesis Rios tied for the team lead with four assists, and added two rebounds and a steal. Her sister, Saleen Rios, had three points, two steals, one assist, and one rebound.
