The South Mountain Community College women's volleyball team (0-1) lost 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-11) to No. 13 Mesa CC in a non-conference match at MCC's Theo Heap Gym on Saturday, Aug. 23. Sophomore Alyssa Szymanski led SMCC with five kills and finished second on the team with seven digs, while sophomore Abby Kilpatrick posted two kills and a team-high eight digs.
Sophomore Ailynn Solis led SMCC with eight assists and added two digs and a service ace, and freshman Isley Seabrooke recorded four kills and a dig. Freshman Allie Encinas recorded five digs, three assists, one kill, and one service ace, and freshman Keira Allen had three digs and two assists.
Sophomore Amanda Mitan and freshman Talullah Johnson combined to each earn a block assist, and freshmn Esra Bryant added a kill.
