The Gauchos posted another comeback victory, scoring twice in the seventh to post a 6-5 victory.

SMCC scored three runs in the first, as freshman Jack Meissner hit a sac fly to score Pierce Jr., Ornelas scored on a passed ball, and Hewes plated Lorenz with another sac fly.

After the Gauchos tied the game in the top of the second, the Cougars quickly responded with two runs in their half to re-establish their lead. Ornelas came through with another two-out, two-run single that scored Strand and sophomore Nuri Todd.

However, GCC scored twice in the top of the third, but the Cougars cut down the tying run at the plate.

The score remained 5-4 until the seventh, when the Gauchos got an RBI single and a sac fly to take a 6-5 advantage.

Todd delivered a two-out double in the seventh, but he was left on base at the inning's end. SMCC went down in order in the eighth, but nearly mounted a rally in the ninth.
