The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 126-16 to Scottsdale CC on Jan. 7 and 86-19 to Mesa CC on Jan. 10 in a pair of ACCAC Division II contests.
Freshman Janelle Smith had six points, four rebounds, and a steal against the Fighting Artichokes. Freshman Victoria Benito posted four points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist against SCC. Saleen Rios posted seven rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one point in the contest.
Against the Thunderbirds, Smith posted six points and four rebounds in 32 minutes. Freshman Genesis Rios also had six points, and added two rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 26 minutes. Benitez sfored five points and recorded three rebounds, two steals, and an assist in 35 minutes. Freshman Kashari Bullard had five rebounds.
