The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team lost 90-39 to Mesa CC in an ACCAC Division II road contest on Saturday, Feb. 28 in the 2025-26 season finale. Freshman Genesis Rios came off the bench to lead SMCC with 12 points, connecting on three 3-pointers. Freshman Victoria Benito was second on the team with nine points, and freshmen Jayden Lynch and Kashari Bullard tied for the team lead with six rebounds.
Rios made four field goals in all, with three coming from beyond the arc. She added two rebounds and an assist. Benito made two baskets, including one 3-pointer, and added four free throws. She also produced one rebound, one assist, and one steal.
Lynch finished with six points, six rebounds, one assist and one block, while Bullard had two points and a steal. Freshman Jaya Harris grabbed five rebounds and added two points and a steal. Freshman Saleen Rios had six points, one rebound, and one steal, while freshman Janelle Smith had two points.
