Freshman Quinton Breuer of the SMCC men's golf team received 2026 ACCAC Division II Player of the Year honors after an outstanding spring season for the Cougars on the links. Breuer won the Puma Spring Classic, placed second at the NJCAA Region I Division II Championships, had two other top-three finishes, and carded a cumulative -28 over the spring season. At the Puma Spring Classic, Breuer claimed individual medalist honors at -6 (136) over Feb. 24-25 at Encanto Golf Course in Phoenix. Most recently, Breuer placed second at the Region I Division II Championships with a final score of -4 (280) to help lead the Cougars to the team title. He carded rounds of 67, 70, 71, and 72 on the par-71 course over April 20-23 at Ocotillo Golf Course in Chandler, Ariz.
