Sadie Su'a Earns NJCAA Softball Division II First Team All-American Honors

Sophomore Sadie Su'a of the South Mountain Community College softball team earned 2026 NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors (UTIL) after a stellar season at the plate and in the circle for the Cougars. A dual-threat, Su'a appeared in 62 games as a sophomore and received ACCAC DII Player of the Year honors after batting .483 with 94 runs, 102 hits, 30 doubles, four triples, 15 home runs, 76 RBIs, 36 walks, and 26 stolen bases. In the circle, Su'a went 17-5 with seven saves, 160 strikeouts, a 2.42 ERA, and a 1.19 WHIP in 161.2 innings of work.
 
Originally from Phoenix, Su'a posted an .877 slugging and a .561 on-base percentage for the year, and hit .500 with 70 runs, 72 hits, 20 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 55 RBIs, 29 walks, and 18 stolen bases in 42 ACCAC DII games. Su'a had a season-high four hits in six games, hit two home runs in a win at Paradise Valley CC on Feb. 24, and recorded a career-high six RBIs three times.
 
She posted two doubles in five different games, had three games with two stolen bases, and scored a season-high four runs four times. Su'a received 2026 ACCAC DII Player of the Year honors, First Team All-ACCAC Division II honors, and First Team All-Region I Division II honors. 
 
Su'a tossed a five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts at Paradise Valley CC on April 28 and finished 12-1 with four saves, a 1.89 ERA, 111 strikeouts, and a 1.02 WHIP in 103.2 innings and 28 games against ACCAC DII competition. She posted a season-high 11 strikeouts at PVCC on Feb. 24, and had 10 K's at Scottsdale CC on Feb. 21 and against Mesa CC on Feb. 7. 
 
Against NJCAA competition, Su'a tied for second in Division II in hits (100) and doubles (30). She ranked third in extra-base hits (48), sixth in runs (93), fifth in total bases (181), 17th in RBIs (75), and 14th in walks (36). As a pitcher, Su'a led all of NJCAA DII with her seven saves and tied for first in appearances (42).
 
Su'a helped lead the Cougars to a 47-15 overall record in the 2026 season and a 35-7 mark in ACCAC DII play. The Cougars forced an if-necessary game in the Region I DII Championships at Pima CC before falling in extra innings. SMCC then earned an at-large berth as the No. 11 seed in the 2026 NJCAA DII World Series at Tyger River Park in Spartanburg, S.C.
 
As a freshman in 2025, Su'a received Second Team All-ACCAC DII and All-Region I DII honors. She batted .376 with 47 runs, 50 hits, 12 doubles, eight home runs, 37 RBIs, 14 walks, and eight stolen bases in 40 games. In the circle, Su'a finished 9-3 with one save, 84 strikeouts, and a 3.28 ERA in 72.2 innings in 16 games and 12 starts.
