Sadie Su'a Named ACCAC DII Player of the Year; Eight Cougars Named All-ACCAC

Sophomore Sadie Su'a of the No. 7 SMCC softball team earned ACCAC Division II Player of the Year honors after a sensational 2026 regular season that saw her lead all conference players, regardless of division, with 95 hits, 88 runs, 28 doubles, and 74 RBIs over 55 games. Joining Su'a on the First Team All-ACCAC and First Team All-Region I Division II Teams were sophomores Alyssa Jemio and Tazia Blake. Sophomores Jerzey Jarvis and Eva Harrison, and freshman GG Moreno received Second Team honors, while freshman Leah Alcala and sophomore Aryka Ortega earned a spot on the Third Team.
Su'a was outstanding all year, both at the plate and in the circle. As a hitter, she batted .500 with a .569 on-base percentage and a .911 slugging percentage. She added four triples, 14 home runs, 30 walks, and 22 stolen bases to her final season stat line. Against ACCAC DII competition, Su'a batted .500 with 70 runs, 72 hits, 20 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 55 RBIs, 29 walks, and 18 stolen bases.
As a pitcher, Su'a finished the year 15-2 with six saves, 145 strikeouts, and a 2.16 ERA in 132.2 innings of work. She led all ACCAC players in saves, finished second in strikeouts, was third in ERA, and tied for fourth in wins. She went 12-1 with four saves, 111 K's, and a 1.89 ERA in 103.2 innings against ACCAC DII competition.
Jemio was another two-way standout for the Cougars en route to First Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I Division II honors. Offensively, Jemio batted .402 with 46 runs, 72 hits, 10 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 50 RBIs, 32 walks, and six stolen bases in 55 regular-season games. She led all ACCAC players in walks, finished sixth in hits, tied for 11th in RBIs, and was 12th in runs.
In the circle, Jemio went 15-5 with two saves, 58 strikeouts, and a 3.08 ERA in 113.2 innings of work. She tied for fourth in wins, was eighth in ERA, and 12th in innings pitched. She went 12-4 with one save, 46 strikeouts, and a 2.99 ERA in 84.1 innings against ACCAC DII competition.
Blake, the team's primary catcher, had a good vantage of Su'a and Jemio's excellence in the circle and added a standout season offensively to earn First Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I DII honors. Offensively, Blake batted .328 with 35 runs, 38 hits, six doubles, two triples, four home runs, 29 RBIs, 18 walks, and five stolen bases in 46 games. She batted .323 with 31 runs, 31 hits, five doubles, two triples, three home runs, 24 RBIs, 17 walks, and four stolen bases in 38 ACCAC DII contests. On defense, she posted a .979 fielding percentage in 191 chances.
Jarvis led the Cougars with 36 stolen bases, ranking third in the ACCAC, and seven triples to help her earn Second Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I Division II honors. She added 65 runs, 64 hits, seven doubles, one home run, 28 RBIs, and seven walks in 55 regular-season games. She ranked second in the league in runs and triples, and 13th in hits. In 42 ACCAC DII games, Jarvis batted .370 with 50 runs, 50 hits, five doubles, six triples, one home run, 26 RBIs, six walks, and 26 stolen bases.
Harrison set new career highs in multiple offensive categories to help her earn Second Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I DII honors. In 55 regular-season games, Harrison batted .328 with 40 runs, 43 hits, seven doubles, one triple, 31 RBIs, 22 walks, and 18 stolen bases. She set new career highs in runs, hits, doubles, RBIs, walks, and stolen bases. Against ACCAC DII competition, Harrison batted .330 with 34 runs, 34 hits, five doubles, one triple, 22 RBIs, 18 walks, and 14 stolen bases.
Moreno powered her way to Second Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I Division II honors as a redshirt freshman. She batted .410 with 29 runs, 55 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, 12 home runs, 57 RBIs, and 15 walks. Among all ACCAC players, Moreno tied for fifth in home runs, tied for sixth in RBIs, and was fifth in slugging percentage (.784). In 39 ACCAC DII games, Moreno hit .410 with 22 runs, 41 hits, seven doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 44 RBIs, and 14 walks.
Ortega earned Third Team All-ACCAC honors after finishing 14-4 in 29 appearances and 14 starts in the regular season. She posted 40 strikeouts and a 3.84 ERA in 100.1 innings of work. Ortega ranked seventh in wins and went 11-2 with five complete games, 29 strikeouts, and a 3.65 ERA in 77 innings against ACCAC DII competition. She recorded a pair of wins over Pima CC and added wins over Phoenix College and Scottsdale CC, all of whom are potential Cougar postseason opponents.
Alcala anchored third base for the Cougars in 2026 en route to Third Team All-ACCAC Division II honors. In 54 regular-season games, Alcala batted .377 with 58 runs, 55 hits, 19 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 45 RBIs, 30 walks, and 15 stolen bases. She ranked sixth in runs, tied for seventh in doubles, tied for eighth in triples, tied for 11th in home runs, and tied for 13th in stolen bases among all ACCAC players.
In 41 conference games, Alcala totaled 47 runs, 41 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 37 RBIs, 24 walks, and eight stolen bases to go with a .377 batting average.
