Bio
Justin Taylor was named Assistant Coach of the South Mountain Community College Women’s Basketball team in September 2025. He brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Cougars, steadily working his way up the coaching ranks since beginning as an assistant coach at Center Grove Middle School Central in Greenwood IN.
Taylor joins SMCC after nine successful seasons as the Boys Varsity Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations at Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, Ind. During his tenure, he helped guide the Tigers to a Class 3A State Championship in 2017, the school’s first title in 58 years—accomplished in the staff’s very first season. Under his leadership, Crispus Attucks also secured:
· 9 Conference Titles
· 4 Sectional Titles
· 3 Regional Titles
· 2 Semi- State Titles
· 1 Class 3A State Runner-up finish (2025)
Taylor also played a key role in the development of two Indianapolis All-Stars and contributed to the program’s overall record of 174-62 during his time there. Prior to Crispus Attucks, he served as Head JV Coach at Traders Point High School in Whitestown, IN.
Throughout his career, Taylor has been deeply involved in all aspects of coaching, including overseeing practices, scouting, skill development, and game- day operations.
A lifelong Indianapolis native, Taylor is a proud graduate of Lawrence North High School.
