SMCC WBB Forward Rahimeh Salaam Signs with Clayton State

Sophomore Rahimeh Salaam of the South Mountain Community College women's basketball team will continue her intercollegiate career at Clayton State University, an NCAA Division II institution in Morrow, Ga. A 6-1 forward from Phoenix, Salaam averaged 8.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game in 23 contests for the Cougars during the 2024-25 season. 

Salaam scored in double figures eight times during the season, posting a season-high 18 points in a win over the Grand Canyon Club Team on Nov. 3. She posted 17 points at Pima CC on Jan. 22 and had 16-point performances against Glendale CC on Nov. 20 and against the Park-Gilbert JV Team on Nov. 2. 

In 17 ACCAC Division II games, Salaam averaged 7.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. She finished with four double-doubles during the year, including three straight to start the season. Salaam recorded a season-high five blocks against Chandler-Gilbert CC on Jan. 11 and had three games with four blocks. 

The Clayton State Lakers compete in the Peach Belt Conference and finished 10-19 overall and 7-11 in PBC play during the 2024-25 season.
