SMCC Men's Basketball Announces Four-Year Transfers

The South Mountain Community College men's basketball team announced its four-year transfers from the 2024-25 squad that finished fourth in the ACCAC Division II standings to earn a postseason berth. SMCC finished the 2024-25 season 12-19 overall and 7-11 in ACCAC Division II play to earn the fourth seed in the Region I Division II Tournament.
Sophomore Cash Callaway will transfer to Colorado State-Pubelo to continue his intercollegiate basketball career for the upcoming 2025-26 season. A 6-1 guard from Pasco, Wash., Callaway earned 2024-25 First Team All-ACCAC Division II and All-Region I Division II honors after averaging 18.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per game in 31 starts.
Callaway was especially deadly against conference opposition, averaging 19.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game in 18 ACCAC contests. Ultimately, he scored in double figures 29 times, including 13 games with at least 20 points. He led the ACCAC with 98 3-pointers for the season and shot 41.7 percent from downtown.
He finished with a season-high 33 points against Pima CC on Jan. 22 and posted 31 points against Chandler-Gilbert CC on Jan. 11. Callaway posted 30 points against Phoenix College on Jan. 18 and knocked down a season-high seven 3-pointers three times.
The CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves are an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They finished 12-16 overall and 7-13 in RMAC play during the 2024-25 season, with new head coach Zach Ruebesam taking over for the 2025-26 season.
Sophomore Jacob Taylor will transfer to Westcliff University in Irvine, Calif., an NAIA program that competes in the California Pacific Conference.
A 6-3 guard from Surprise, Ariz., Taylor started 31 games in 2024-25 and averaged 11.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
He scored in double-figures 17 times, including a season-high 22 points against Mesa CC on Feb. 26 and Glendale CC on Nov. 20. Taylor knocked down a season-high three 3-pointers four times and grabbed a season-high nine rebounds twice.
The Warriors went 14-9 last year and posted a 7-3 mark in conference and a 13-8 mark in region play.
Sophomore Julius Williams will transfer to Benedictine-Mesa, an NAIA program that competes in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference.
A 6-4 forward from Glendale, Ariz., Williams appeared in 26 games and made 20 starts in 2024-25. He averaged 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, and scored in double-figures nine times, including a season-high 19 points against Phoenix College on Jan. 18 and against Scottsdale CC on Jan. 29.
He grabbed a season-high nine rebounds twice, and dished out a season-high eight assists at SCC on Feb. 22.
The Redhawks finished 13-15 overall and 2-12 in GSAC play last year.
