Bio

Gabe Alegre joined the South Mountain CC women's volleyball team as an assistant coach in August 2025. Alegre brings extensive playing and coaching experience to the Cougars and will assist with offensive and defensive systems. 

Alegre played four years of varsity volleyball at Capistrano High School in Mission Viejo, Calif. He played in 2022-23 for the SMCC men's volleyball team and is currently a libero for the Gilbert Ducks and Phoenix Valor of the Volleyball League of America. 

He has been a head and assistant coach for the last three years, which includes girls high school varsity and club from ages 13U-17U, as well as one season with boys club. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for the Campo Verde High School Varsity boys team that won a state championship.
