SMCC Men's Golf Freshman Adam Croix Transfers to Utah

Freshman Adam Croix of the South Mountain Community College men's golf team will transfer to the University of Utah to continue his intercollegiate golf career. A 2025 Second Team Division II Ping and NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American, Croix won three spring tournaments for the Cougars and tied for 21st at the 2025 NJCAA Division II National Championships.
Originally from Peoria, Ariz., Croix shot a +13 (301) at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Ind., to earn NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American honors as the Cougars placed third as a team at the National Championships. He moved up eight spots on the final leaderboard after finishing at even-par (72) in his final round, recording three birdies over the last 18 holes. He opened with a +1 (73) with one birdie, recorded one birdie in a second-round 77 (+5), and had three more birdies in his third round to post a +7 (79).
Croix won the Estrella Mountain Tournament at +2 (146), tied for 1st and won individual medalist honors on a scorecard playoff at the Glendale Spring Tournament at -4 (140), and won the SMCC Tournament at -13 (131).
At the Estrella Mountain Tournament at Sundance Golf Course in Buckeye, Ariz., on Feb. 24-25, Croix excelled on the back nine over both days to win individual medalist honors for the first time in his intercollegiate career. He birdied the par-four No. 17 and the par-five No. 18 in his first round and then finished under par on the par-four No. 15 and again at No. 18.
He edged teammate Jack Taylor on a scorecard playoff at the Glendale Spring Tournament on March 10-11 at Union Hills Golf Course in Sun City, Ariz. Croix carded two rounds of two-under 70 with four birdies in his opening round and another four in his second, plus an eagle three on the par-five No. 4.
In the Cougars' home tournament at Dobson Ranch Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz., over Mar. 24-25, Croix posted rounds of five-under 67 and a tournament-best eight-under 64. He opened his first round with birdies on four of the first five holes and added two more on the back nine. He followed that up with six birdies, an eagle three on the par-five No. 13, and zero bogeys in his second round to claim individual medalist honors.
He also placed third at the Region I Championships at +7 (291), tied for third at the Gila Monster Tournament at -1 (143) and the Paradise Valley Tournament at +5 (145), and tied for seventh at the TankLogix & Tall City Collegiate at +1 (214).
The University of Utah Utes are an NCAA Division I program that competes in the Big 12 Conference.
