Phoenix, AZ – Every year some of the best amateurs in the state try to compete with the professionals at The Arizona Open, which is a professional golf tournament being hosted this year on September 11-13, 2008 at Desert Mountain’s Apache Course in Scottsdale, AZ. Last year South Mountain Community College’s Scott Brace was one of only 2 Amateurs to make the cut.

This year Brace looks to once again make the cut but could have some teammates pushing him as well. Not only did sophomore Scott Brace (London, England) make it thru qualifying this year, which was held at Vistal GC, but so did 7 other teammates including sophomore Chace Nathe (Grand Junction, Co), sophomore Adam Winwood (London, England), sophomore Rob Murray (London, England), sophomore Ryan Busbee (Prescott, AZ), freshman Branden Barron (Centennial, CO), freshman Anthony Depalma (Grand Junction, CO), and freshman Travis Graves (Tucson, AZ).
