Silver City, NM---South Mountain Freshman Chace Nathe carded rounds of 73 71 at Silver City Golf Course this past weekend to finish tied for 3rd with Ben Lange of Scottsdale C.C. and Greg Pool of Western New Mexico University.
Although it was Nathe’s first collegiate tournament he stayed calm and collective on a golf course that demanded a strong short game and an even better game plan. “I am very pleased with Chace’s performance this weekend, he showed a lot of character and maturity on a golf course that can get on your nerves quick.” said Coach Harrington. With average rounds both days being above 78, Nathe was quick to leave his mark and help his team finish in 3rd place behind host team Western New Mexico University and conference foe Scottsdale Community College.
The Cougars will travel to Rio Rico Resort this weekend to play in the Pima Invitational which will be their first conference tournament of the year.
