Over the weekend, the men’s golf program dedicated their Saturday to assisting the First Tee of Phoenix with their 2006 Ultimate Golf Fest.  Team members helped professional staff with junior instruction, picking range, parking assistance and aiding Assistant Golf Coach, Craig Hocknull, with his trick shot show.  “We had over 300 families and youngsters in attendance and plenty of fun and exciting golf activities for them to enjoy.” “I thank you and your team for their generosity and time,” said the new First Tee Executive Director, Hugh Smith.

In 1997, the World Golf Foundation created The First Tee to introduce young people of all backgrounds to the game of golf by creating affordable and accessible golf facilities for those who had not previously had exposure to the game and its positive values.  The First Tee of Phoenix is located at 9510 South 7th Street just west of the Vistal Driving Range.
