Freshman Devin Schreiner came back from a two shot deficit to win the 2006 “5” Iron Open.
The tournament was eventually decided in the moonlight as Freshman Bentley Nakasawa 3 putted the second playoff hole to hand Schreiner the title. Both players left the field behind as their short game ball striking, and putting outclassed the rest of the field.
The “5” Iron Open is an annual cougar golf event contested over 36 holes. Players are allowed To carry a maximum of ten clubs and must not hit any club stronger then a five iron.
