Aug 7, 2006 - Carlson Signs with Concordia University

Sophomore Nick Carlson has signed with Concordia University, a private NAIA institution in Irvine, California. Carlson chose Concordia for the location, weather, and rising golf program in Region II which earned a national ranking in the top 25 for the first time in their young history.  Concordia’s Head Coach Joey Cerulle believes Carlson’s talent and tournament background is what the program needs to make the next step and earn a bid to the NAIA National Championship in 2007.

Carlson was a standout and team leader during his two years at South Mountain.  During the 2006 Region I championship, Carlson fired rounds of 76 71 73 71 to finish in 3rd place and earn All-Region Honors.  A solid 73.57 stroke average ranked Carlson in the top 15 in the ACCAC and 29th in the National NJCAA DII rankings. “Nick will be missed but I believe he still has things he wants to accomplish during his last two years at Concordia and will definitely make an impact,” said Coach Brown.
