Freshman Gabe Plaza from Somerton, Arizona and Freshman Nicholas Banfield from Halifax, Nova Scotia earned ACCAC All-Conference Honors this week with their fine play during the 2007 season.  Plaza’s final conference stroke average totaled 71.60 earning him a spot on the first team.  Nicholas Banfield earned second team honors with a final stroke average of 72.90. Freshmen Devin Schreiner (73.70), Keenan Holt (73.84), and Bentley Nakasawa (73.94) just missed second team honors which required a 73.39 average over 180 holes.

The South Mountain Men’s Golf Program wrapped up the 2007 regular season and finished Runner-up to Champion Scottsdale CC.  “We were able to beat them and NJCAA DI Champions, Midland in New Mexico, but could not get put two good rounds together during ACCAC Conference play.” “I am very proud of my team and now we must focus on the post season and preparing for the Region I Championship,” said Coach Brown.
