On Friday Oct. 15th, 2004, the top returning sophomores in the ACCAC Conference gathered to participate in the annual Sophomore All-Star Game.  The SMCC Cougars nominated to participate in the game were Josh Tarnow (catcher), Luis Nieblas (catcher), Jesus Luna (shortstop), CJ Retherford (third base/pitcher), Anthony Franco (outfielder), Kyle Chilton (outfielder), Greg Cassarino (outfielder), Stephen Miller (pitcher), Rene Lopez (pitcher), and Ernest Moraga (pitcher).  Retherford was the game’s starting pitcher and standout player, finishing with one inning and 2 strikeouts as a pitcher, and 3 hits (2 doubles) as a hitter.  Nieblas finished with 2 hits and one double at the plate.  Franco was 1 for 2 at the plate.  Miller threw a scoreless fifth inning and struck out 3 batters.
