SMCC Head Soccer Coach, Scott Vaughan, has announced tryouts for both the Men’s & Women’s Soccer programs on Saturday, February 25, 2012
Tryouts for the 2012 Men's and Women’s Soccer Teams are being held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at South Mountain Community College for graduating high school seniors and club team players. SMCC is located at 7050 South 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85042 and tryouts will take place on the SMCC Soccer Field.
The Men's tryouts will take place from 9:00am to 12:00pm and the Women's tryouts will take place from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. All student athletes should arrive 30 minutes early to check-in and warm-up for their respective tryouts. We are currently looking for players for all positions.
The Soccer season starts in early August. Head Soccer Coach, Scott Vaughan, is looking for student athletes who are committed to furthering their education while playing collegiate soccer.

Cougars Hire New Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach
South Mountain Community College announces the hiring of new Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach Scott Vaughan. Coach Vaughan brings experience as both a player and as a coach. He is a native of Westford, MA and played his high school career at Westford Academy where he was a three-year varsity starter. After high school, Coach Vaughan played one year at Fitchburg State University until injuries ended his playing career. Coach Vaughan has been coaching soccer for the better part of the past 15 years in both Massachusetts and Arizona. Coach Vaughan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fitchburg State University.
SMCC’s men’s soccer team, led by coach Scott Vaughan, regularly competes against the top squads in the Phoenix metro area.
The team’s 18-game schedule begins in late August and runs through mid-to-late October. Join us on the field as we make history this year.
