Scott Adland
Assistant Men’s Golf Coach
South Mountain Community College men’s golf coach Jake Harrington has made another addition to his coaching staff during the 2012-2013 golf season by hiring Scott Adland.
Adland was born and raised in Sydney, Australia where he graduated from the PGA Academy of Australia in December 2006, ranked first in the state and sixth nationally. He became a full member of the Australian PGA in January 2007, played for 7 years on the Australasian Tour and The Gateway Tour.
During Adland’s time playing golf he was a State Team Member in Sydney from 2004-2006 and a 2006 National PGA Team Member. As a professional golfer he played in over 5,000 tournaments, recorded 100+ top 10 finishes, and 50+ top 5 finishes while a member of the Australasian and Gateway Tours.
During his time at the PGA Academy, he had the privilege of learning under some of the best instructors in the world, Gary Barter (Australian Coach of the Year 2001), Paul Hausman (Australian PGA Academy Coach of the Year 2006) and Greg McHatton (the Albert Einstein of golf, PGA America Coach of the Year).
“Scott brings another tremendous tool to our coaching staff, having played professionally in Australia and here in the States he really helps bring a unique perspective to our team and really is able to relate well not just with our local student athletes but really understands and relates with the unique challenges that face our international student-athletes while they are away from home,” said Coach Jake Harrington “I am excited to have Scott around our team. I am very picky with the people that I let close to our team but Scott embodies everything you could ask for in an assistant coach and a member of our Cougar golf family.”
