SMCC (2008/09): Branden played in 3 tournaments as a Freshman after coming back for the Spring Semester after suffering a knee injury during the Fall Season.
Amateur Highlights: In 2005 shot 67 to win US Open Qualifier beating PGA Tour pros Mark Wiebe and Jim Beneppe, making him the youngest medalist in the country in a U.S. Open Local Qualifier. Named to Colorado Junior Americas Cup team 3 times ‘05, '06, '07 and finished T2 in ’05 at the Broadmoor, T6 in ’06 at Cherry Hills CC, and 4th in ’07 at the Broadmoor. One of only 4 high school kids to qualify for Colorado Golf Assoc. men's championship played at Murphy Creek GC host site for 2008 US Publinks National Championship finished 11th firing 71, 75, 71, 74. Qualified for the 2008 Arizona Open (Professional Tournament), made the cut, and finished as 2nd low amateur.
High School: Played for Coach Eli Moore at Chaparral HS….Qualified for the state tournament 4 years in a row…finished 15th in 2004, 2nd in 2005, 4th in 2006, and 10th in 2007 at state. He earned high school All Conference Honors all 4 years and All State Honors in ’05 and ’06. Medalist Honors in 14 High School Tournaments.
Personal: Born 12/10/89...the son of Bill and Chellie Barron. Branden is dedicated to getting a 4.0 GPA, playing in every tournament as a freshman, and helping the team compete for a Conference, Regional, and National Championship.
